A good day

Today, in the process of asking God to "give (me) this day (my) daily bread", I noticed that this day is filled with little blessings - so unimportant, so regular that it would be easy to overlook them.

I am recording a small part of the list here...as a note to self - "Look! Blessings!"
  • I feel good!
  • With laundry piled high after a week away - my washer works perfectly.
  • Daffodils are budding in the yard.
  • The little snow that fell, melted in the sun (that's right, sun!).
  • A cheery basket full of yellow flowers brightens my dining room - yet another monument.
  • I didn't have to cook tonight.
  • I don't live in an area that floods.
  • My house is warm.
  • While organizing my workroom, I found "love you gramma" notes - like a hug from afar.

I'll stop. I hope you have an ordinary day like mine - full of little gifts from God.

Oh wait! Just one more...

  • The verse for this day - And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Jeremiah 32:17

I always pray that God will show me those little blessings. We all have so much to be thankful for!

Such a good reminder. I'm thankful, too, today for the sunshine, my nose isn't running anymore, my dog hasn't pottied in the house today, my kids are healthy today, and we have enough to eat. Thanks for reminding us all to be thankful to God for the little things.
